Annual IBCA Saturday Meeting

August 2, 2008

VFW 8787, 500 VFW Road, Austin, TX

The Annual Saturday meeting will be held at the VFW 8787, 500 VFW Rd, Austin, TX again this year.  We have found that this is centrally located for most of the members.  The agenda is yet to be set so if you have anything that you would like to discuss with other members this would be a good place to do it.

Remember if you have any proposed rule changes to present to the BOD they must be in the office in writing by July 25, 2008.

Dee Dee has suggested that those that are coming down on Friday that we possibly have a chili cook-off.  If you are interested in participating please let us know.

TERRELL Heritage Jubilee

This is a great event each year and continues to grow.  Terrell has been sanctioned by the IBCA since 1992 starting out on the 4th of July—however, after realizing that there couldn’t be any consistency with the number of cooks changed it to the 3rd week-end of April each year (with the exception if that should be Easter).

In 1992 there were 17 teams with only 5 locals, and this year there was a total of 120 teams participating with 49 locals, some of the locals do not participate in the Open division.

Danny, Sarah, Dennie, Debbie and the entire BBQ Committee do an outstanding job each year promoting this event.  On Saturday morning they have a catered breakfast for all of the teams before the cook’s meeting—what a way to start the day.
